Fire from Within

I love nautical themes.  I don’t know why.  I can’t swim and I am TERRIFIED of the water!  I won’t even go to a swimming pool, let alone a large body of water!  It is so bad, that when I first started SL and little baby El would accidentally end up under water, I would start to panic.  I could feel myself breathing harder and being afraid that I would drown!  Funny how the virtual world can trigger SO many real life reactions!  I have since gotten over that.  And now I will just jump right in the water (in SL of course) and walk across to the other side.

But back to nautical themes.  I have always liked them.  SO, I was really happy to see that Vero Modero had come out with a nautical theme!  Not one…but THREE adorable outfits that should satisfy anyone’s craving for all things nautical.  The collection features two mesh dresses, one in red and one in blue and a pant set.  They all come with the traditional “sailors collar” (which I chose to leave off of the pant set, just to give you an idea of what it would look like without it) and  two adorable hats.  I loved all three looks and cannot decide which one I love the most!

When looking for skins to pair with this nautical theme, I chose Moana,  from Essences  and the other two are from Izzie’s.  I must admit, Izzy’s is fast becoming one of my favorite skin makers. (Hell, not just skins!  I have yet to see anything that she released that I did not just adore!) I love the fresh feel of her skins, the realistic look of her freckles and I LOOOOOOVE that she adds a glove version of her skin for those of us obsessed with prim nails.

Speaking of prim nails, the jewelry and nails featured in the first two looks is from WTG jewelers.  I hope you can get a good look at the nails from some of the close up pics.  There is just no one that does nails like they do!  And their jewelry is always EXQUISITE!  I LOVE everything they come out with, whether it be elegant and formal or edgy and casual, their jewelry is just amazing!  AND the items they have for men are just as incredible.  I have bought several pieces for Vanish, they were just too good to pass up!

The jewelry featured in the last look is from Addiction.  I love the name of her jewelry for you truly CAN become addicted to it!  She does the most AMAZING elegant scroll work of anyone out there and her jewelry always looks SOOOOO feminine.  It is always light and airy….and beautiful!

Since these looks seemed to have a vintage feel to them (or at least they did to me ) I wanted a vintage hair.  And who does vintage hair better than Pocket Mirrors?   It is the FIRST store that I think of when doing vintage looks. The first two looks feature hair from Pocket Mirrors with the last being from Elikatira.

This post is getting kinda long!  But I cannot end it without telling you about the location where I took these pictures.  When I started thinking about what I wanted to do with these looks, of course, one’s first thought would be a nice beach or a boat.  But I did not know of any nice boats in SL.  There are LOTS of pirate boats, but that is NOT what I wanted.  I needed a yacht or a cruise ship.  I asked my friends in plurk for a location and thankfully Vaki Zenovka replied with this:  http://secondlife.com/destination/274  the SS Galaxy.

I must say, I have not seen ANYTHING like this in SL before.  If you have not been, take an afternoon and go check it out!  It covers THREE sims.  I could not even take a full length picture of it, it was too big!  ALL of these pictures were taken there.  I know it looks like 3 different locations, but they were all taken on this one boat.  It is TRULY amazing.  There is a bridal area there that is JUST LOVELY and can be rented for weddings.  There are shops, a HUGE swimming pool with all kinds of slides and stuff.  There is a disco area, a spa, an art area, several dining areas.  There is so much that I could not see it all.  AND they have a LARGE assortment of staterooms and suites that can be rented.  I must admit I cammed in to take a look and they are REALLY nice!  The furniture and decor is top notch and the suites….MAN!  There was one at the end of the boat that I SOOOO wanted to go in and take a long look at!  It was REALLY nice from what I could see.  In any case, if you are wanting to take a night out swimming or dancing or just exploring the boat, spend some time on the SS Galaxy.

Thanks for listening to me go on and on about the things I love.  Until later…..
