One of the perks of doing the 52 weeks of color challenge is going thru that ENTIRELY TOO LARGE inventory and seeing what you really have tucked away in all those folders you call inventory! As I searched through mine, I came across this beautiful gown by Lillou Merlin. I often go to her shop when I am looking for something magical or an “elegant” feel. She is really good about making gowns with large lovely hats or with attachments that will raise up behind you, making you feel as though you have wings. I have several pieces from her that I just love…and I remembered this one that I had stowed away in the “someday” category. I was not sure about the colors…they were all mixed together..blue….green…some yellow for good measure…and I thought that it MIGHT be what some would call Teal. Either way, it was too pretty to take off, so I decided to put it together.
I needed a skin that would be fairy-like and tucked away inside my “Special skins” folder was this one. Unfortunately, the shop I bought it from is no longer in business. I tried it on with the dress and a “Fairy queen” was born!
Alli &Ali have been one of my favorite hair stores for quite some time now. They had just released this number and I loved the little curly tendrils that framed my face and neck along with the color change hairband and I knew it would be just the kind of thing a Fairy queen would wear!
In my jewelry folder resides a few pieces I have picked up from Ganked and have been waiting for just the right look to pair them with. I knew I did not need a necklace as the “headpiece of the gown was enough, so I stole the earrings and bracelet from the set and it matched the dress perfectly! Ganked has big, bold colorful jewelry and just one piece of their jewelry can make an entire statement!
I knew the fairy queen needed “Royal” nails…and so I immediately went to my set from Finesmith Designs. Her nails almost feel like jewelry when you wear them and they come with some beautiful rings to boot! Some of her nails have a menu change option in them and you can change them to mix and match your outfits. (And did I mention what a nice person she is? It is always nice to find a nice designer behind such beautiful creations!)
I topped it off with lashes from Wasabi Pills and headed off to find a magical place for a fairy, stumbling upon Twomoons Island. It was really Beautiful! You can see all the pics I took at my Flickr photostream. And there you have it! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
