My heart was thrilled today, love as we looked at the area in which we will be living and you told me all the history and showed me all the pics! Funny thing….it felt like I had always been there…..like there was something about it that called to me. Almost as though I had walked those streets and hidden in those forests before! I think I will be very happy there, love…and I KNOW that I will be happy as long as I am in your arms. Your steadfastness and steady course provide me with so much security, love. I have not had that sense of security since I was a small child. I am grateful for it. It is so comforting to know that I have someone to rely on, someone that I can count on and that will be there for me. I am so grateful for that, love. But at the same time…I do not just want to be another burden to add to your shoulders. I do not want to be just one more thing that you must take care of. I want to be an asset to you, love. I want to be someone that you can count on too! I want to provide something to you like you provide to me. I am not sure what I could possibly have to offer, but I will find something…and I will make sure that it will give you the same amount of security that you give me.

Thank you for the flowers and presents, love. You are SOOOOO good to me! I am SO grateful. You always know what to do to make me feel better! You will never know how much it meant to me today, love when I got the flowers and read the card…it was quite simple…”For my lovely wife.”….it was perfect. It was as though I could hear your voice say the words as I have so many times before…

V grabs her tight.

El: I am.

V: My wife.

V smiles.

El: Yes, my lord…always… at your beck and call, my love.

V: And you shall be at my service.

V kisses her softly.

V: You will be greatly rewarded.

El: I have no doubt. I may be a servant but I am no dummy!

V: Of course not. You’re not even a servant.

El: I know how to get what I want!

V: You’re… my love.

El: Yes…I am…always.

V: We want the same anyway.

El: I know…and that’s so wonderful. I guess it is a good thing or one or the other of us would be in big trouble!

V smiles happily.

V: God, how much I have looked for you. I’ve been looking ALL OVER.

El: And I for you. I was not sure I would ever find you. I was not sure that you existed!

V: Dito. But there you are.

El: I thought I would be destined to roam alone, with only my thoughts to comfort me. I never dreamed that these arms would be around me! I would not let myself dream it!

V closes his eyes, holding her tight.

V: Yes. Because then it maybe won’t be true.

El: I was not sure that it was…. I thought I had made it up… that you really did not exist!

V: Oh, I exist alright. I have no trouble existing.

El: Oh god….I was wrong. Yes… you exist!

V smiles.

El lays her head on his shoulder…kissing it gently

V caresses her back gently…running his fingers through her hair.

El: I feel so small inside of you..tucked away….peaceful.

V: You’re not small. You fill me with all your being…you complete me…

El nods.

El: Yes…as you do me.

V: …filling the empty rooms inside me……and..bring me home.
